Saints Skate with Parkland Hockey Academy
An excited group of middle school students from the Parkland Hockey Academy enjoyed a fun skate with some big boys from the Spruce Grove Saints. Kodie Curran, Brett Cameron, Ryan Kerr, Liam Darragh, and Brett Switzer joined the aspiring hockey stars for an ice session and a tour through the Saints room and facilities. Before they hit the ice the group was invited into the locker room where they learned about team traditions and what it means to be a Spruce Grove Saint. After some Q &A everyone suited up and hit the ice for some fun. After a quick warm up teams were made and relay races and 3 on 3 match ups began. With junior players as their wingers the students seemed a little more "fired up" than usual for 3 on 3 in practice. However it was hard to determine who was having more fun, the big guys or little guys. Smiles graced the faces of everyone who left the ice, and it continued into the academy dressing room where the Saints players signed autographs and gave pointers to the young puck prodigies.
